World Championships Quarter-Finals

Ronnie O'Sullivan put in another excellent performance to
beat Neil Robertson and secure a spot in the semi-finals.
Ronnie O’Sullivan, whose recent performances have made him favourite for the championship for a number of fans, overcame Neil Robertson 13-10 in the Quarter Finals. Despite trailing the Australian 5-3 after the first session, Ronnie won six of the eight frames in the second session to go 9-7 up. Neil took the first frame of the final session but a couple of centuries in the next three frames put The Rocket 12-8 up at the interval. Neil threatened a comeback by winning the next two but O’Sullivan finished the job by taking the next frame.

He will face Matthew Stevens who cruised into the semi-finals at the Crucible after an astonishing comeback to beat Ryan Day 13-5. Stevens led 11-5 after the first two sessions and was able to win the opening two frames of the concluding session to confirm his spot in the semis.

Meanwhile Ali Carter also booked his spot in the semis alongside Stephen Maguire after defeating the Welsh revelation Jamie Jones. Carter was 9-7 ahead following the first two sessions and looked comfortable after winning three of the opening four frames to go in 12-8 up at the interval. However a revival from Jones saw him claw the score back to 12-11 but Carter held his nerve to knock in a 73 to secure his semi-finals spot.
