Stuart Bingham was crowned champion of the inaugural APTC
tournament as he battled his way past Stephen Lee to win a final frame decider.
The Basildon man took the first frame however Lee fought back to win the
following two. Bingham levelled the scores at 2-2 before Lee went back ahead
with a break of 87. However Bingham’s spirit remained to win the following two
frames to clinch the £10,000 prize. The victory in the PTC event also means
Bingham gets automatic qualification to the PTC Finals in Ireland, next spring.
Earlier in the day, during the semi-finals, Bingham had
overcome Welshman Michael White, 4-2 to book his place in the final. Meanwhile
Lee defeated the sole remaining Chinese player, Chen Zhe, by the same
scoreline.
