EPTC 3 - Antwerp Open

Mark Allen secured event 3 of the European Tour in Belgium with a 4-1 victory over Mark Selby in the final. The Northern Irishman got off to a fantastic start with three centaury breaks of 117, 102 and 106 to lead 3-0. Selby managed to prevent the whitewash by winning frame four but missed the black off its spot in frame five allowing Allen to clear up to take the final and a cheque for £12,000.
Allen had earlier beaten Welsh amateur player Andrew Pagett who did remarkably to reach the semi-finals, 4-1. Pagett, who had been knocked off the tour at the end of last season, beat Stuart Bingham in the last 64 and came through a tense final frame deciding win over Neil Robertson in the Quarter-Finals. In the other semi-final, Selby produced a totally dominant display to defeat Ali Carter 4-0.

An-inform Selby had also demolished Marco Fu by the same scoreline in the quarters to book his place in the last four. The other quarter final games saw Carter beat Joe Perry 4-1 whilst Allen overcame Ben Woolaston 4-3.
