World Open Day 6

Neil Robertson came through a final frame decider in a high quality encounter against Stephen Maguire. The Scot hit a 52 to take the opener although Robbo responded to take the next two with runs of 78 and 80. Maguire drew level at the interval though thanks to a run of 67.

He secured a two-frame cushion by winning frames five and six, including a run of 67 in the latter. However the Aussie hit back with two frames of his, including a 87 in the eighth to draw level at 4-4. The match was concluded with more high break building, with Maguire going within a frame of victory after knocking in an 82. However Neil finished the stronger and breaks of 110 and 81 to seal the win.

He’ll face mark Selby on Sunday in a repeat of the Masters final after he comfortably beat Shaun Murphy 6-2 in the other semi-final. The Leicester man dominated the early stages, winning the first three frames, including a break of 68 in frame two. Murphy did pull one back before the interval though to trail 3-1.

Selby took frames five and six with a 63 the latter. Murphy did make it 5-2 but Selby secured the win with a 55 in the eighth.
